Frequently asked questions
How many semitones do I need to change the key?
One semitone moves the song one key up or down, for example from C to C♯. Twelve semitones is a full octave, which keeps the same key an octave higher or lower. Singers usually only need 1 to 3 semitones.
Does changing the pitch change the speed?
No. The audio is resampled to change the pitch and then time stretched back to its original length, so the tempo and duration stay the same.
How does the preview work?
Pressing Preview processes about 30 seconds from the selected position with your current settings and plays it, so you can check the sound before processing the whole song.
Which key is my song in?
Press Detect key to estimate it from the audio. The new key is shown as you move the slider, together with its Camelot code for harmonic mixing.
Is this tool free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your audio is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
Which file formats are supported?
You can open MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, and OGG files, and download the result as MP3 (320 kbps), WAV, or FLAC.
