Frequently asked questions
How do I cut an exact part of a song?
Drag across the waveform to select a part, then drag the edges to fine-tune it. For exact cuts, type the start and end times as minutes:seconds.milliseconds (for example 1:05.250) or as plain seconds, and use Play selection to check the result.
Can I make a ringtone with it?
Yes. Select a 20 to 30 second part, add a short fade-in and fade-out, and download it as an MP3. Most Android phones can use that file as a ringtone directly.
Does trimming reduce the audio quality?
WAV and FLAC downloads keep the decoded audio exactly. MP3 downloads are encoded again at 320 kbps, which most listeners cannot tell apart from the original.
What do fade in and fade out do?
They ramp the volume up from silence at the start of the clip and down to silence at the end, over the number of seconds you choose. This avoids clicks and abrupt starts and endings.
Is this tool free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your audio is processed entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.
Which file formats are supported?
You can open MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, and OGG files, and download the result as MP3 (320 kbps), WAV, or FLAC.
