AI acapella extractor
Pull the vocals out of a song and download them as an acapella. The instrumental comes with it, so you can check the result and use both for remixes, mashups, and samples.
1. Choose a song
2. Separate
- The first run downloads the AI model (174 MB) once; your browser keeps it for next time. Your song is never uploaded.
3. Listen and download
The acapella (vocals only) and the instrumental appear here when the separation is done.
How it works
- Pick a song from your device.
- Press Extract vocals: an AI model separates the voice from the music, on your device.
- Listen to the acapella and the instrumental, then download the acapella, the instrumental, or both as a ZIP.
Extract an acapella from any song
The acapella extractor isolates the vocals of a song and gives them to you as the main download. The rest of the song, the drums, bass, and other instruments, is mixed into an instrumental track so you can compare, and keep it if you need it.
Acapellas are the raw material for remixes, mashups, bootleg edits, and live DJ blends. They are also handy for sampling a phrase, studying how a singer phrases a line, transcribing lyrics, or building a practice track to sing against. Download the acapella with one click as WAV or MP3.
Tips for a better acapella
Start from a lossless file (WAV or FLAC) or a high-bitrate MP3, because compression artefacts in the source end up in the acapella too. Trim the song to the verse or chorus you want first, so it processes faster.
Before you mix the acapella into a new track, find the tempo and key of the original so you can match the beat and pitch. Songs with a lot of reverb or stacked backing vocals can leave an echo of the band in the acapella, so listen to it solo. For the opposite job, a karaoke track, use the vocal remover.

Frequently asked questions
What is an acapella?
An acapella is the vocal part of a song on its own, without the drums, bass, and other instruments. DJs and producers use acapellas for remixes, mashups, and samples.
Will the acapella be completely clean?
Usually very clean, but not always perfect. The AI model can leave faint traces of the music, or reverb and backing vocals, and on dense mixes it may take a little of the voice away. Listen with the instrumental muted to judge it before you download.
How is this different from the vocal remover?
It uses the same separation but puts the vocals first: the main download is the acapella, and the instrumental is the secondary track. The vocal remover does the opposite, with the instrumental as the main download.
Can I use an acapella in my own remix?
Extracting an acapella does not give you the rights to it. For practice and private mixes it is fine, but get permission from the rights holders, or look for official acapella releases, before you publish or sell anything made with it.
Is my song uploaded to a server?
No. The separation runs on your own device, inside your browser. The only download is the AI model itself; your audio never leaves your computer or phone.
How big is the AI model download?
The AI model is about 174 MB. It is downloaded once from SearchSound.cloud the first time you separate a song, then kept in your browser’s cache, so later songs start right away. Clearing your browser data removes it.
How long does separation take?
On a typical laptop it takes about 4 to 5 minutes per minute of music, because the model runs on a single processor core. Browsers with WebGPU (recent Chrome or Edge on a computer with a capable graphics card) can be faster. Phones are much slower and may run out of memory, so a computer works best. Songs can be up to 10 minutes long.
Why does it need so much memory?
The AI model is a large neural network and needs about 3 GB of memory while it works. If the tab crashes, close other tabs and apps, or trim the song first.
Can I use the separated stems in my own releases?
Separating a song does not change who owns it. Use stems of copyrighted songs for personal practice, study, and private remixes, and get permission from the rights holders before publishing or selling anything made from them.
Is this tool free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no account, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you process.
Which file formats are supported?
You can open MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, and OGG files, and download each stem as WAV or MP3, or all of them together as a ZIP file.
