The Church Within.

About this track
THE CHURCH WITHIN A song about God, doubt, mortality, conscience and love — and the freedom to admit that some things may remain unknowable. The Church Within follows a man searching for the divine beyond doctrine, institutions and borrowed certainty. He finds no easy answers and eventually stops demanding them. Instead, he begins to recognise something sacred much closer to home: in forgiveness, friendship, family, human connection, the people who stay, and the simple act of loving another person. Perhaps heaven is not somewhere waiting for us. Perhaps we encounter pieces of it here. “If I have touched the face divine, I touched it through love.” Musically, the track strips everything back to Baroque and Classical chamber music: solo violin, strings, viola, cello, double bass, harpsichord and fortepiano, drawing on the musical worlds of Vivaldi, Haydn and Bach. 72 BPM • D Minor Baroque × Classical × Chamber Music Male Tenor-Baritone A reflection on mystery without fear, belief without certainty, and love as the closest thing to the divine that we can actually know.
