By The Light Of The Silvery Moon
About this track
A love song from another time, rewritten for another life. “By the Light of the Silvery Moon” is a haunting piano-and-voice ballad about memory, lost love, and the strange way certain moments never really disappear. Beneath the same silver moon that once witnessed young love, an older man looks back across the years and remembers the person who is no longer there. Johnny Punish transforms the romantic imagery of an earlier era into something darker, quieter, and deeply personal — a solitary voice, a lonely piano, and a moon that seems to remember everything. Sometimes the person is gone. The place is gone. The years are gone. But the moon is still there. LYRICS I remember when the night was young And your name was always on my tongue We would wander where the shadows grew Just me and you beneath the moon You wore a dress as white as snow And I was too afraid to let you know That every star above the town Was nothing when you weren't around By the light of the silvery moon I still remember you The years have come and gone too soon But the moon still shines the way it used to do By the light of the silvery moon I hear your voice somehow You may be gone but I still wait For you to come back to me somehow There was a bench beside the lake Where we promised vows we'd never break You said we'd grow old side by side And I believed you when you cried Now the bench is covered up with rain And every summer feels the same I walk that road when night is still And wonder if you ever will By the light of the silvery moon I still remember you The years have come and gone too soon But the moon still shines the way it used to do By the light of the silvery moon I hear your voice somehow You may be gone but I still wait For you to come back to me somehow Maybe love doesn't disappear Maybe it just waits somewhere near Maybe every lonely night Is just another way to keep you in sight By the light of the silvery moon I'm still talking to you The night is cold the years are long But somehow I can hear our song By the light of the silvery moon I'll remember you somehow And if there's another life beyond this one I'll find you there somehow So I'll sit here beneath the silver light And say goodnight Goodnight my love By the light Of the silvery moon ------------------------------- Written and performed by Johnny Punish Produced by Punish Studios From the album PUNISH THE PIANO MAN #PianoAndVoice #PianoBallad #LostLove #LoveAndLoss #HauntingMusic #SingerSongwriter #DarkRomantic #EmotionalMusic #OriginalSong #IndieMusic #AlternativeMusic #VintageInspired #LonelyPiano #StorySong #MusicVideo #PunishStudios #JohnnyPunish #ByTheLightOfTheSilveryMoon #PunishThePianoMan Johnny Punish, By the Light of the Silvery Moon, Punish the Piano Man, piano and voice, piano ballad, dark piano song, haunting love song, lost love song, love and loss, emotional ballad, lonely piano, romantic piano music, sad love song, vintage inspired music, cinematic piano, intimate vocal, singer songwriter, Johnny Punish music, Punish Studios, alternative singer songwriter, indie piano music, story song, emotional music, haunting romantic song, old love song, moonlight love song, music about lost love, reflective song, late night music, piano vocal performance
