My Religion radio edit
About this track
The Lyrics are mostly from MY RELIGION, a poem by Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson, published in 1905; and in the Public Domain since 2011. I have re-written a few lines, repeated some and omitted others, to make it more contemporary - but the message is the same. The WAV file from this I uploaded and covered on Suno at 100% to style. This original version I call ''ARTESIAN'', (hear below); I reworked on Suno to add keyboards, bass and percussion, to generate ''Artésien.'' I then used that instrumental to produce the tune to make this song, at aimusicgen.ai My finished audio track I mastered and produced on Logic Pro. ---------------- Track Art - CC0 at Pexels - eg. banner - pexels-matheusnatan-3394939.jpg ---------------- Lyrics - [intro] Let your Catholics all at the Confessional kneel, Let your Jew with distrust turn from it, Let the mighty Crown Prelate in Church pander zeal, Let the Mussulman worship Mahomet. From all these I differ, truly secular my plan, With my doctrine perhaps you'll agree, To be upright, and downright, is to act like a man, Yes that's the religion for me. [instrumental] [instrumental] I will go to no Church and to no house of Prayer To see a white shirt on a preacher. And in no Courthouse on a book will I swear To injure a poor fellow-creature. For parsons and preachers are all so mis-read, With their hands often greased by a fee; But with the poor worker to share your last bread, Yes that's the religion for me. [instrumental] [instrumental] From all these I differ, truly secular the plan, With my doctrine perhaps you'll agree, To be upright, and downright, is to act like a man, Yes that's the religion for me. So let us, one unto one, like brethren act, My doctrine this suits to a tee, and Hearts that can feel for the woes of another, Yes that's the religion for me. [outro]
