On one side, there’s Alby Loud, representing the Latin American hardcore scene with a sound he describes as “high-impact.” His style plays with genres such as hard techno, gabber, and latincore. On the other side, there’s GENE-E-OUS, a producer whose style focuses on heavy drums, punchy percussion, loud vocals, and hardstyle screech leads. Together, they’ve created what I consider the perfect track for a current club night: very 2026. Running at 160 BPM, “Tócame” combines a hard, compressed kick with chopped female vocals, whistles, and several unexpected shifts. Toward the end, it surprises us with a kind of “slowed-down EDM cumbia” or at least that’s what I would call it, perfect for breaking away from any linear structure. These details are precisely what set the track apart from the European sound: the willingness to take club music somewhere more regional, Latin, and distinctly our own.” -Rosa Pistola
