“Grandma’s Song” is one of the most personal records I’ve ever written. This song is for my Grandma Ida Pearl Stewart and every grandmother who carried a family through hard times without asking for recognition. The same woman who prayed for us, protected us, loved us through our mistakes, and kept showing up when life got heavy. As kids, they tell us not to cry and teach us how to stay strong. One day you realize the people who made you feel safe need somebody to lean on too. This record is my way of saying thank you. You don’t have to carry it all anymore.
