This one started with seven words spoken more than thirty years ago. I had to live a lot of life before I was finally ready to write the rest of it — and even then, people swore there was no way I could finish it without sounding abusive. Then they heard it. It’s a blues song about time, memory, and the way a single line can follow you through decades until you’re finally honest enough to sit down and write it.
