"It is Well with My Soul" was written by Horatio Spafford in 1873 after his four daughters died in a tragic shipwreck. Following previous financial ruin in the Great Chicago Fire and the death of his son, Spafford penned the lyrics while sailing near the spot where his daughters perished. This beautiful song expresses deep faith and hope amidst overwhelming grief.
