Manhattan (West 54 Original Mix)
by Rich Biscuit
About this track
Rich Biscuit - Manhattan EP (Double Dip Records 002) Following the hugely well-received debut 'Life' – which secured strong DJ support and charting on Traxsource Deep House – Rich Biscuit delivers the 'Manhattan EP' as the second release on Double Dip Records. 'Manhattan' is a deep house love letter to disco's most decadent era. Kicking things off, the West 54 Mix brings nostalgic chords, driving drums, strings and piano together with original samples to create a warm wistful look back in time. Pete Le Freq steps up with his Refreq – doing what he does best, reinterpreting the track with his trademark funk, syncopation and crystal-clear production. Pete Le Freq needs no introduction - a serial editor and remixer who for more than 20 years has been reworking disco and funk classics as label boss of Alpaca Edits and Llama Farm Recordings, updating originals with a distinctive dance floor edge. Finally, the disco_shift dub takes things deeper – in the pocket, filtered business. Groovy as you like. Rich produces alongside Vern (Foreign Movies, Reflekt, Stretch n Vern) and guests across the UK, hosts a fortnightly show on Twitch, and runs parties with the Northern Disco Affair collective in his home town of York. He is also one half of disco_shift with Pete Le Freq. Double Dip Records continues its monthly release schedule, showcasing fresh talent and Rich's deep groovy productions. 'Manhattan EP' drops as a Traxsource exclusive on December 5th on Double Dip Records.
