About this track
FREE DOWNLOAD: https://hypeddit.com/tekill/defeatcrews Defeat Crews originated in summer of last year after learning some bass design techniques that Phace & YAANO used in their track CURLS – the first export of it was actually titled SUMMER SLAMMER when I sent it out to my homie Bagger Vance for a wrestling-themed gig he had in Brooklyn. It became DEFEAT CREWS after sampling those lyrics from an old DVD clip of a Ludacris freestyle. I always layer in my own field recordings, and this one starts off with the wilderness in New Mexico from a camping trip I took in 2021. I also sampled some FX from Death Stranding, vox from this dope underground Memphis rapper Selebrity, and my signature yelps from Antwuan Dixon. It all comes together for a tune that unintentionally became a big mash-up of subgenres – it’s got the foundation of a techy roller but slowly evolves into a stinker of neuro-flavored jump-up banger by the 2nd drop. This one’s a certified smasher in the rave so I hope you get some mileage out of it! Big ups from Brooklyn
