THE ROOMS WE LEFT BEHIND is an album about the places love leaves behind. Not just houses. Not just bedrooms. Not just photographs. The rooms inside your head that still belong to someone who is no longer there. This album follows one person through the remains of a relationship — from obsession, nostalgia, anger, jealousy, and regret to something much harder to reach: acceptance. Every track represents another room, another memory, another part of the past that refuses to stay buried. At first, the house feels alive. Footsteps in empty hallways. Voices behind the walls. Photographs that still carry a heartbeat. A room upstairs that hasn't been opened since everything fell apart. The narrator dances with ghosts, burns old letters, argues with memories, and watches the person they once loved become more perfect in memory than they ever were in reality. But slowly, something changes. The ghosts become quieter. The rooms become rooms again. And the past stops feeling like somewhere you have to live. Songs such as “Keep Me in the Halls,” “The Room Upstairs,” “Dance With Your Ghost,” “Midnight Knows Your Name,” “Burn the Letters,” “The Walls Are Talking,” and “Funeral for a Love Story” explore the darker side of memory — the way love can survive long after the relationship itself is gone. But this isn't an album about destroying the past. Tracks like “We Were Beautiful Once,” “Leave the Light On,” and “When the House Goes Quiet” reach a different conclusion: Something does not have to last forever to have been real.
