“threnody grove” feat. Foresthymne from my upcoming album “a handful of ashes”. Full album on Sept 25th from @stereoscenic 🥀🖤🥀 Threnody Grove is the first track from my side project Foresthymne with my good friend Jim McDermott. The song was composed during a nor’easter with guitars, synth, and vocals. During a lull in the storm I was able to capture a rare recording of a winter irruption of the Evening Grosbeak. ( “a dramatic southward movement of these northern finches, happen when food supplies like tree seeds and cones fail in the boreal forests” - Wild Birds Unlimited) Not rare because it doesnt normally happen in nature but rare because this species of bird had a drastic population decline. I may never see them again yet alone 100’s at once in my own trees. It seemed as if the entire canopy of the forest was filled. Artwork by the amazing Dan May Art !
