About this track

He has watched smarter men lose their judgment over beautiful women and collected enough cautionary wisdom to believe it could never happen to him. Then he meets someone who doesn't disprove a single thing he knows. She simply gives him reasons to decide none of it applies. lyrics [VERSE 1] He'd seen it happen to better men, watched them lose the house and car. Somebody must be tired of her. That's the mantra he'd always heard. [VERSE 2] He knew about the little stories, monks and something in the blood. Somebody whispered oxytocin. He laughed harder than he should. [PRE-CHORUS] He knew every way it happened. He could see one coming. [CHORUS] Then she smiled across the table. Nothing happened. Nothing moved. He saw every warning coming. This one didn't count. [VERSE 3] She had a mother who needed something, a brother starting something new. He'd heard that one a hundred times. The details sounded true. [BREAK] [VERSE 4] His friends quit asking questions. He'd already answered every one. She wasn't anything like those women. Not really. Not this one. [CHORUS] Then she smiled across the table. Something happened. Something moved. He saw every warning coming. Found a reason not to. [OUTRO] Somebody must be tired of her. He used to say that. I guess. He couldn't remember who.
