About this track
A woman has a theory about why her dates keep disappearing: eventually, they realize they’re not good enough for her. Her latest companion listens carefully, considers the evidence, and suddenly remembers he has a dog that needs shampooing. lyrics [VERSE 1] She said, “I don’t know what it is with men. First couple dates go really well. Then somewhere around the third one they ghost me.” She took a sip. “I think they realize they’re not good enough for me.” [VERSE 2] “There was Bruce. Sweet guy. Terrible about answering his phone. I could see he was home. His location said so. So why not answer?” [CHORUS] “They always say they want a woman who knows what she wants. Then they meet one. I think some men just get intimidated.” I said, “Could be.” [BREAK] [BRIDGE] She leaned in. “You know what I mean?” “Well… I’m not sure.” [OUTRO] I looked at my watch. “Oh. I forgot. I have to shampoo my dog.” She said, “Tonight?” I said, “Apparently.”
