Danny Kash - These Days
About this track
“These Days” introduces Danny Baby’s newest alter ego, Mr. Need Two—a grown man who understands his habits, desires and contradictions, even if he has no intention of changing them. Blending seductive storytelling, dark humor and outlaw road imagery, the record follows him through secret meetups, late-night drives, codeine dreams and whiskey nights while two women wait for him back home. Built around an extended mechanic metaphor, “These Days” turns attraction into diagnostics, breakdowns, leaking fluids, blown gaskets and expensive repairs. Beneath the playful wordplay is a mature philosophy about freedom, possession and accountability: Danny may enjoy the connection, but he refuses to own anyone or allow anyone to own him. With its smooth country-trap-soul atmosphere, cinematic transitions and unforgettable “Mr. Need Two” refrain, “These Days” is a self-aware confession from a man who has matured without becoming conventional. He knows he has been wrong all night—he is just trying to make it home before morning.
