About this track

‘Wishes’ is a fun folk‑acoustic tune inspired by family & friends. These small stories — horses, highways, skies, and home — all circle back to the wish we share to bring more laughter, song, and warmth to those we love. 🌞 I like to think of ‘Wishes’ as a family album set to acoustic guitar, celebrating many of the people who shape our lives. Every section of ‘Wishes’ is a snapshot inspired by someone dear or who I knew. It was a time of great change and hope when I wrote it. We were moving into a new home, and I wanted to save the memory of that time for my family, and in a way that would be relatable to others. I’m hopeful you’ll enjoy it. Thanks for listening! 🙂 Lyrics: 😁 <verse 1> Wish I rode on a Highland horse with you along a long ghost trail And we could find the source of the Grail On these big ‘ol beasts we’d ride down east to Chatham in the morning sun We’d meet up with our friends and you know we’d know everyone <verse 2> Wish I drove on a motorcycle fast like my daddy’s done You know I’d make that highway run I’d go to sixty in three, with the melody from a rumbling dyna-drive On this big ‘ol engine that keeps me feeling alive <chorus> Oh I wish I could make you laugh and sing and maybe have a little more fun But wishing by itself is half a thing, just wishing for it won’t get it done But if I had just one wish Oh if I had just one wish - you’d be my only one <bridge> Wish I flew in a plane in skies far from my city’s heart High above the rain we’d try, darling, to see who we are <verse 3> Wish I made the money in a bank like a Wall Street hero’s son I’d buy you a big ‘ol house with some room to run On a 40 acre spread, a table full of bread and a stable for our horses’ home And a stable kind of life in a place you know where we can belong <chorus> Oh I wish I could make you laugh and sing and maybe have a little more fun But wishing by itself is half a thing, just wishing for it won’t get it done But if I had just one wish, Oh if I had just one wish Yes if I had just one wish - you’d be my only one Darling, oh if I had just one wish - you’d be my only one! ——————————————————————————— Copyright 2008, L.A.
