Obsidian Pulse
About this track
'Obsidian Pulse' is an exploration of the deep and the dark. From the shifting gravity of the chorus to the crystalline rain of the finale, this track is a slow-motion arc through a violet-hued landscape. --- The amethyst air is beginning to fold, Turning the daylight to mercury and gold, I’m carving a path through the carbon and bone, Listening to secrets the granite has grown, The gravity shifts in a slow-motion arc, Tracing the maps written into the dark. [Chorus] And we’re caught in the obsidian pulse, Where the rhythm of the tide and the spirit consult, Drown the shadow in a velvet eclipse, With the weight of the universe touching our lips. Fading to black... Never looking back. The ink in the well is a fathomless sea, Drowning the versions of who I should be, I’m reading the rings in a petrified tree, Counting the heartbeats of all that is free, No signals to follow, no paths left to tread, Just the silence of stones in a violet bed. [Chorus] And we’re caught in the obsidian pulse, Where the rhythm of the tide and the spirit consult, Drown the shadow in a velvet eclipse, With the weight of the universe touching our lips. Old as the canyon... Deep as the vein... Washing away... In a crystalline rain... Pulse and dissolve... Into the obsidian...
